Who we are

Grind Over Luck is operated by Gr8tness The Brand, which acts as the data controller for the personal data described here — meaning we decide what data is collected and why. Contact us at support@grindoverluck.com with any privacy question or request.

What we collect and why

• Account data — name, email address and login credentials. Used to create and secure your account and identify you on your team’s roster. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Program and roster data — your program name, squad or group assignment, and coach or athlete role. Used to provide the Service and enforce roster limits. Legal basis: contract.
• Activity data — the workouts, team statistics, challenge submissions and points recorded by you or your coach. Used to produce leaderboards and progress views visible to your program. Legal basis: contract.
• Support messages — anything you send us. Used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests in supporting our users.
• Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, and basic usage or error logs. Used for security, fraud prevention, and diagnosing and improving the Service. Legal basis: legitimate interests in keeping the Service safe and working.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use athlete activity data for advertising. Payment card details are never collected or stored by us — they go directly to our payment provider.

A note about minors

This Service is used by high school athletes. Accounts are created within a coach’s program, and we ask that coaches obtain parent or guardian permission before adding a player under 18. We collect only what is needed to run the program; if a parent, guardian or school asks us to delete a player’s data, we will do so promptly.

Who we share data with

• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, authentication and error-monitoring providers who process data on our instructions.
• Merchant of Record — Paddle.com, which handles the sale of the subscription, payment processing, subscription management, invoicing and tax compliance.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
• Authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.

Other members of your own program can see your name, group and submitted activity — that is the point of a shared leaderboard. Nothing is visible to the public or to other programs.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

Retention

We keep account, roster and activity data for as long as your program is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards so a returning program keeps its history. When data is no longer needed, or on a valid deletion request, we delete or anonymise it. Records we must keep for tax or legal reasons are retained for the required period.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email support@grindoverluck.com and we will respond within one month. UK and EEA users also have the right to complain to their local supervisory authority.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and database access rules that restrict each account to the data it is allowed to see.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and local browser storage only — to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Our payment provider may set cookies necessary to operate the checkout. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but the Service will not work properly without the essential ones.
